Assembled group of nineteen (19) Native American baskets, including five (5) miniatures comprised of various materials including pine straw, grass and wood, likely Southeastern, United States; one (1) lidded miniature pine needle and raffia basket, possibly Coushatta; one (1) large Pima wall plaque or tray; one (1) miniature figural Pima plaque or tray; one (1) small Mi'kmaq round lidded box made of birch bark and porcupine quills with star design to the top (damage to lower section); three (3) Southwest Native American coiled baskets including one (1) bowl form with geometric designs and flaring sides, one (1) small carrying basket with geometric designs, and one (1) low bowl form with geometric designs; one (1) large bowl, possibly Yokuts/Miwok, comprised of deer grass, sedgeroot and sumac, zigzag design to the center (rim damaged); two (2) Tlingit round lidded gift baskets with polychrome colors, one (1) wove from cedar bark (bottom & upper rim) and two-color twined spruce root and one (1) wove from cedar bark (partial bottom) and two-color twined spruce root; two (2) round lidded California baskets, possibly Hupa, twined construction with geometric designs (one (1) w/ slight losses to one side); one (1) pedestal bowl basket, possibly Yokuts/Miwok, comprised of deer grass, sedgeroot and sumac with geometric and linear designs; and one (1) urn form basket with ring handles, possibly Ute, coiled grass design with red dyed rim and handles. Ranging in size from 1/2" H to 3 1/2" H x 15 1/4" dia. All baskets 20th century. Provenance: Nancy Walton Collection, Gatlinburg, TN.
