Two (2) American, likely Pennsylvania, Windsor hoop back armchairs, constructed of mixed woods. 1st item: Windsor hoop back armchair, 7 back spindles intersected by a center rail terminating as arms with knuckle-molded handholds. Arms supported by a vase-turned baluster and short spindles over a shield-shaped seat. Resting on turned legs with H-pattern turned stretchers. 40 1/2" H x 25 3/4" W x 15 1/8" D. 2nd item: Windsor hoop back armchair, 8 back spindles intersected by a center rail terminating as arms with curved handholds. Arms supported by a vase-turned baluster and short spindles over a shield-shaped seat. Resting on turned legs with H-pattern turned stretchers. 41" H x 27 1/4" W x 16" D. Both Early 19th century.
CONDITION: Both chairs are in overall good condition with scattered wear and minor losses due to age and use. The first chair has shrinkage fill/repair to the seat. The second chair has old repairs to both armrests.
