1st item: Kentucky advertising firkin or bucket, one side with label reading "Goodwin's Best Applebutter, The Goodwin Preserving Co., Louisville, KY, U.S.A". 12" H x 11 3/4" dia. Late 19th century. 2nd item: George III mahogany navette shaped and brass banded peat bucket. 14 1/2" H x 10 5/8" D x 14" W. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Michael and Peggy Mahoney, by descent from the historic homes of Clarkland Farm at Bryan's Station and Cherrycote, Lexington, Kentucky.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition, scattered wear and wood shrinkage, losses to the label, possibly missing one lower band. 2nd item: Overall good condition. Likely fitted with a brass liner originally, now absent.
