Six (6) toleware domed top document boxes, all with polychrome painted freehand or stenciled foliate swags, ribbons, or line decorations in shades of green, yellow, red, pink, grey, and brown. All with top handles and latches for padlocks to lids. Ranging in size from 3 3/8" H x 6 7/8" W x 3 1/2" D to 7 1/4" H x 9 1/2" W x 6 1/2" D. All items 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Patricia Kiegel, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: All items in overall good condition with dents, surface wear, oxidation to metal, areas of loss to paint, 4" x 6 7/8", to boxes. Three latches are broken.
