Two (2) antique Turkmen Yomud Asmalyk pentagonal weavings, wool on wool, both with central serrated diamond and geometric designs, one with fringe, and both woven in colors of red, blue, and cream. 4 ft 2 in x 2 ft 10 in and 3 ft 10 in x 2 ft 5 in. Both rugs circa 1870s.
PROVENANCE:
Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION:
1st rug: Overall good condition, some lower/side fringe missing. 2nd rug: One patch with areas of moderate wear and wear/losses to the perimeter.
