Uzbekistan Suzani hand-embroidered textile, central medallion surrounded by a field of poppies interspersed with scrolling foliate designs. Wrought in bright colors of pink, blue, green, black, and gold, all on a cream cotton foundation. 7 ft. x 10 ft. 7 in. 19th century.

PROVENANCE:

Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.

CONDITION:

Scattered losses to weaving throughout, primarily to light pink areas, some holes, and losses to the foundation. Scattered staining and light wear to embroidery.
