Seven (7) Cowpens, South Carolina pottery items by African American potters, Winton and Rosa Eugene (South Carolina, 20th/21st Century), including one (1) black glaze pitcher with unglazed body etched with turtles and a pigtail handle; two (2) bowls with painted scenes of barns and colored glazed interiors; three (3) mugs with etched designs of portraits and fish and glazed interiors; and one (1) dish with etched portrait and blue-colored glazed rim. All inscribed on the base "Winton – Rosa Eugene Cowpens SC" or "W – R Eugene Cowpens SC," numbered and dated. Ranging in size from 3/4" H x 6" dia. to 5 1/2" H x 11 5/8" dia. Dates range from 1999-2001.
PROVENANCE: Private East Tennessee collection. Purchased near Cowpens, SC.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition.
