Chinese gilt metal, possibly copper, lidded censor topped with a figural foo dog or lion depicted with its left front paw atop a ball, lid and body with pierced decoration, bulbous body with oval insert, dragon or phoenix figural handles, two relief carvings on each side including "Longma" and Pheonix "Fenghuaung", raised on four scrolled feet with taotie mask knees. 9 1/2" H x 8 1/2" W x 6" D. 20th Century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Judge John Nixon, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with light wear to gilt throughout, figural handles and finial have been re-attached.
