1st item: French Marquetry swivel toiletry box, oblong quatrefoil form comprised of mixed woods with brass mounts, the lid having inlaid scalloped forms and a Victorian female finial that rotates to reveal four hidden compartments with off-white fabric and velvet lined interiors, the largest two compartments with mirrors and additional scalloped inlay to exteriors. 8 3/4" H x 8 1/4" W x 5 3/4" D. 2nd-3rd items: Two (2) brass mounted glass boxes, including one (1) ovoid form box with faceted hinged lid and body, includes key (5" H x 5 5/8" W x 3 1/2" D), and one (1) trapezoidal form box comprised of beveled glass panels with a scrolled top handle and two side doors, each having two holders for a total of four perfume bottles, includes one extra stopper, terminating in four paw feet (7 3/8" H x 4 5/8" W x 4 1/2" D). 4th item: Louis XVI style gilt bronze mounted vanity mirror having ribbon crest, foliate swag, scrolling mounts, and reed and foliate ribbon edging throughout upon a pink marble base. 17 5/8" H x 14 7/8" W x 6 1/8" D. All items late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Peggy Lambert, Maryville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: 1st item: Some areas of loss to inlay and wood, largest 1", areas of natural age shrinkage. General wear, staining, breaks to mirrors, to interior compartments. Swivel function does not rotate smoothly. 2nd-3rd items: Lid to oval box has been reglued to brass mount. Very minor scattered fleabites, flaws in the making to perfume bottles. 4th item: Possible replacement to right hinge. Minute desilvering of mirror. Minor lifting/denting to metal backing.
