Chippendale period upholstered wing chair or easy chair in the Chinese taste, serpentine crestrail and shaped sides with flared arms and seat front. Straight legs; pierced rectangular stretchers on sides and back and recessed in the front. Upholstered in salmon colored damask. 45"H x 25"W x 28"D. Probably English, mid 18th century. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: At least one stretcher has been repaired or replaced. Original surface with wear and abrasions, particularly to feet. Some wear to upholstery.
