Six (6) Continental wooden boxes, including one (1) English brass mounted burlwood lap desk with fitted compartments and green leather writing surface to the interior, brass inlaid border and escutcheon to exterior, accompanied by an associated Chippendale-style stand; One (1) Birdseye maple Tea caddy with mahogany veneer banding and wood escutcheon, interior fitted with two foil-lined tea compartments with covers, retains key; One (1) Rosewood veneered box with bands of geometric inlaid parquetry design to lid and front, partially paper-lined interior; One (1) Queen Anne style Mahogany box with brass top handle escutcheon, fabric-lined interior on bracket feet; One (1) Mahogany brass mounted desk or letter box with brass escutcheon and fabric lined interior; One (1) Mahogany box with brass escutcheon, partially lined interior. Items ranging from 7 3/4" x 5" x 2 1/2" to 20 3/4" H x 18 1/2" W x 11" D (including stand). All items 19th century.
CONDITION: Use wear commensurate with age. Natural wood shrinkage, largest age split 11 3/4" to base of rosewood box and 17" L to base of lap desk. Scattered minor losses to some brass and wood inlay, veneers. Queen Anne style box lacks locking mechanism.
