Five antique trophy cups and bowls – Memphis, Tennessee provenance. 1st item: Gorham sterling small double handled cup with mask of a Native American Chief, engraved to Sara Day Snowden for MGC Runner Up, Second Sixteen Mixed Foursome, Aug. 26, 1916. 4 3/8"H. 2nd item: International sterling silver bowl with engraved inscription: 1928 Tennessee State Shoot Doubles won by Thos. D. Snowden. 9 5/8" Diam. 3rd item: Webster sterling porringer, engraved " Brinkley Snowden Snowden / From Sara Day Snowden Chapter / Grace Church Memphis Tennessee/ January 20, 1938". 4 1/4" diameter excluding handle. 4th item: Silverplated trophy cup engraved "Memphis Gun Club / won by R. Brinkley [sic] Snowden Sept. 11, 1920 47-50. 5th item: Arts & Crafts style metal loving cup with oak cased body, engraved "Memphis Driving Park / Gun Club / John Bayard Snowden / June 8 / 1905." Combined weighable sterling: 15.05 oz troy. Note: these items descended in the prominent Snowden family of Memphis, Tennessee. Their historic mansion Annesdale, which still stands in the city's Midtown area, was a wedding gift to Col. Robert Bogardus Snowden and Annie Overton Brinkley from her father, tycoon Robert Campbell Brinkley, in circa 1868, and remained in the family for more than a century.
CONDITION: 1st item: small dent to 1 handle. 2nd and 3rd items: minor wear/small dents. 4th and 5th items: some wear; shrinkage splits to oak on loving cup. All items otherwise good condition.
