A gilt carved and gesso wood figural eagle depicted with outstretched wings on a rounded base. Drill hole to the base underside, likely for a pedestal, not present. 9 3/4" H x 14" D x 10 1/2" W. American or English, 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of John Z. C. Thomas, Knoxville, TN.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with some scattered wear and losses to the gilt and gesso surface. Back of wings with some vertical wood shrinkage.
