Cornelius Hankins (Mississippi/Tennessee, 1863-1946) oil on board still life, depicting a plate, glass, pitcher, and lighted cigar. Signed lower left "Cornelius Hankins". Hankins studied with Robert Henri, leader of the Ashcan school and William Merritt Chase in New York before settling in Nashville. Retains the original frame. Overall excellent condition. Sight – 10 1/2" H x 13 1/2" W. Framed – 18" H x 21" W. Provenance – Florida collection.
