Octavo, 624 pages with 40 engraved plates, including the frontispiece and title, errata page present, rebound in three-quarter brown leather with tan paper sides with gilt trim and gilt lettering to sides with five raised hubs, contemporary marbled paper end papers, ex libris bookplate dated 1842 with ink inscription from previous owner. 8 1/2" H x 5 3/4" W x 2" D. CONDITION: Rebound covers with shelf wear, rubbing to leather, corners bumped. Pages with toning, plates with areas of dampstaining/acid burn. Ink and pencil inscriptions from previous owners, to front and back pages, bookplate, and title page. Plates are collated.
