Includes 3 cups, teapot, and napkin ring. 1st item: Gorham Sterling silver teapot with monogram for Annie Brinkley Snowden, with horn handle and finial, stamped A5005 and 7/8 PINT. 2nd item: Gorham sterling double handled cup engraved "Robert Bogardus Snowden Aug 6 1896." Stamped 860 3/4 pint with year mark for 1896. 3rd item: Gorham sterling bowl with Zodiac decorated rim, engraved "Robert Bogardus Snowden from his Grandmother," stamped 475 with year mark for 1897. 4th item: Very heavy Gorham sterling napkin ring, engraved "Robert Bogardus Showden from his Grandmother", stamped B3550. 5th item: Gorham sterling silver mug with monogram "Dorothy Whitney Snowden," reeded handle and laurel leaf decorated base, stamped 3840. 6th item: Baker Manchester sterling silver julep cup with engraved monogram "Carol Snowden Jun 1964". Items range in height from 1 1/4" napkin ring to 4 1/2" (double handled cup). Bowl 4 7/8" diameter. Combined weight: 36.85 oz troy. Note: This silver descended in the prominent Snowden family of Memphis, Tennessee. Their historic mansion Annesdale, which still stands in the city's Midtown area, was a wedding gift in 1868 to Col. Robert Bogardus Snowden and Annie Overton Brinkley from her father, tycoon Robert Campbell Brinkley, and remained in the family for more than a century. Several other pieces of silver, documents, and paintings from Annesdale are also being offered in this auction, including a portrait of Annie Brinkley Snowden.
CONDITION: Minor small dent to end of teapot spout, age cracking and wear to horn finial. Other items with scattered minor dents and scratches, overall very good condition. All Monogrammed.
