Asian ivory Okimono, finely carved figure of a Japanese Geisha holding two fans. Her kimono and obi are decorated in delicate leaf and flower patterns. 6-1/2"H. Provenance: purchased by George Mitchell (co-owner of Mitchell's Candy Store, Nashville) during the course of several trips to China and Japan in the late 19th-early 20th century. Mitchell estate. Condition: Missing section of open fan. Some discoloration under subject's left hand.
