English George III Robert Adam style looking glass or mirror, with delicate carved giltwood and wire gesso frame. The oval-shaped central glass is surmounted by a horizontal Neoclassical urn holding Prince of Wales feathers, and embellished with leafy swags, rosettes, ribbons and husks, and a rosette carved medallion at the lower edge. 56 1/2" H x 45 1/2" W. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with some wear commensurate with age including separations and scattered losses to the giltwood frame. Some old break repairs. The beveled glass is a later replacement.
