Three (3) Piedmont, North Carolina, salt-glazed stoneware pottery items stamped W. DAVIS for Wright Davis (Randolph County, 1838-1928) including two (2) preserving jars and one (1) jug-the jug with additional incised letters WSS to the handle terminus. Jars measure 8 1/2″ H & 9 1/4″ H. Jug measures 8 1/2″ H. All pieces Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee Collection.
CONDITION: The smallest jar in overall good condition, with scattered fleabites and shallow chips on the outer rim. The other jar with scattered fleabites to the outer rim, firing flaws to the body. The jug with a couple of shallow losses to the body and scattered firing flaws.
