Kentucky or Middle Tennessee Sheraton walnut sugar chest, poplar secondary. Rectangular form, top with breadboard ends and molded edge above a divided conforming case with paneled sides, one lower dovetailed and scratch beaded drawer with wood pulls, case rests on turned Sheraton legs. Interior well reinforced on the sides with original flat panels to seal the interior well. Case and drawer with brass escutcheon. 34 1/8" H x 33 18" W x 18 1/8" D. Second quarter of the 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Donley and Eunice Hill, Andersonville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with older refinish of exterior and interior well. Some wood shrinkage and scattered staining to top. Area of loss to one rear foot turning.
