Finely carved Asian Okimono, man holding a bunch of grapes in one hand and a basket of fruits and vegetables in the other hand. A gourd dangles from his obi. Signed on base with Chinese or Japanese mark. 5-1/2"H. Provenance: purchased by George Mitchell (co-owner of Mitchell's Candy Store, Nashville) during the course of several trips to China and Japan in the late 19th-early 20th century. Mitchell estate. Condition: A few fine age cracks, overall very good condition.
