Washington County, Georgia huntboard, yellow pine throughout with red wash. Consisting of a two-board plain top over two drawers with molded edges, moldings applied to underside of top and lower case edge. Resting on tall, tapering turned legs. Nailed and pegged construction throughout. 42 1/2" H x 59 1/2" W x 30 3/4" D. Mid-19th century. Note: This item descended from the consignor's great-great-grandfather, Henry Wood (1797-1878), a local Justice of the Peace in Washington County and life-long resident of the Bay Springs Community near Oconee, GA. According to oral history, it was made in the 1840s.

CONDITION: Retains the original surface. Some warping to boards comprising the top, staining, and losses to one corner of the top. Overall general use wear to the base with losses to red stain. Lower left base side molding is absent.
