English George III giltwood girandole two-light mirror with bracket shelf. The top with two birds flanking a Neoclassical urn surmounted by a ribbon swag and carved flower crest, over a beveled shield form mirrored plate, the base and small under-shelf with garland, bead course, shell, and foliate decoration and flanked by two candlearms, the whole with husk swag decoration. Approx. 54" H x 25" W. Early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private West Tennessee Collection.
CONDITION: Condition commensurate with age. Natural wood shrinkage and scattered areas where plaster coating has been restored or lost, some scattered gilt loss. Most significant losses are to the husk swag decoration. Some spotting and silvering to mirror.
