North Carolina folk art hand pieced quilt in the Pine Burr pattern. Made of scrap cotton fabrics, including solids, prints, and stripes in medium brown, red, medium blue, and navy blue, along with conversation prints and large-scale robe prints. The back consists of a striped medium brown cotton. The quilt is hand and machine pieced with hand quilting throughout. 79 in. x 64 in. Late 19th Century. Note: According to oral history, this quilt was made by the consignor’s great grandmother, Alice Spicer Holbrook Brown, who resided in Wilkes County, NC.

CONDITION:
Overall good condition. Well-cared for, with some staining and minor weak points on the edges. The edges have been reinforced by machine with black thread.
