Kentucky Hepplewhite inlaid cherry dropleaf table of small size, two plain hinged drop leaves and four square tapering legs, contrasting band inlay to skirt edge and feet. Underside of top with script reading "Ms. W. C. H. Wood ,411 W. Third". 28 3/4" H x 18" W (38" W with leaves) x 33 5/8" D. Circa 1820. Provenance note: From the historic home Cherrycote, located at 411 W. Third St. in Lexington, Kentucky. Ms. W. C. H. Wood refers to William Clark Hewitt Wood, related to the Clark, Wood and Mahoney families of Kentucky.
PROVENANCE: The Collection of Michael and Peggy Mahoney, by descent from the historic homes of Clarkland Farm at Bryan's Station and Cherrycote, Lexington, Kentucky. Additional provenance information in description.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with older refinish. One leaf with fading, top with some minor staining and other scattered areas of wear, some inlay to feet cuffs replaced.
