Chinese 4-Panel folding Coromandel screen, each panel with applied colored hardstone decorations. Asian beauties engaged in various activities in an outdoor setting adorn the upper section while vignettes featuring pairs of hardstone rabbits decorate the lower section, all enclosed in mother of pearl and inlaid hardstone foliate borders and dividers, with gilt highlights throughout and to the reverse of each panel. Raised on square feet with brass caps. 72" H x 64" W (16" W each panel). Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Property from the Collection of Jo Ann Cline Yates, Lookout Mountain Tennessee. Purchased 1975 from T'Ang Horse, Singapore. A copy of the shipping receipt will be available to the winning bidder.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with expected age related wear and minor losses, mostly minor chipping to lacquer edges. Some overpainting noted to black lacquer ground, primarily to the back.
