English Staffordshire polychrome pearlware jug, eagle perched on a cannon with the American flag inscribed, “Arms of the United States-E. Pluribus Unum” on the side and under the spout inscribed with “Free Trade and Sailors Rights”. 6 3/4″ H x 7 1/2″ W x 6 1/2″ D overall. Provenance: From the Robert Teitelman collection. Pictured, pre-restoration state, page 280 of “Success to America, Creamware for the American Market”. Circa 1800-1820. Private East Tennessee Collection. CONDITION: Some staining. Base with old restoration.
