Chinese Ming Style Longquan celadon carved ceramic vase with phoenix and flaming pearl decoration to the body and a band of lotus petals to the base. 8" H. 18th century. Provenance: East Tennessee collection, by descent from Edwin V. Hill, M.D., deceased 1969. Dr. Hill was a faculty member of Tufts and Harvard Medical Schools and served as a Colonel in the U.S. Army. He collected Asian arts during his military tour in the Far East theatre, including China and Japan, prior to 1964. CONDITION: Overall cracquelure to glaze, otherwise very good condition.
