Louis XV Vernis Martin style Kingwood side cabinet, in the manner of the Paris workshop of Joseph-Emmanuel Zwiener or Francois Linke. Reverse Bombe form, with breche d'alep fitted marble top over a tapering case with double doors, decorated with hand-painted panels depicting a mythological scene of revelry, illegibly signed. Mounted with Classical dore bronze hardware throughout, including male and female caryatids at upper corners, Rocaille scrolling, and masks, raised on cabriole legs terminating in floral sabots. The doors open to reveal a crimson-lined interior fitted with two shelves. 51" H xx 41" W x 17" D. Late 19th to early 20th century. Acquired from a Grosse Pointe, Michigan estate collection of French furniture and decorative arts.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition, with the original French polished patina finish. Retains the key.
