John Taylor and Company cast iron 265 oz silver ingot mold with two handles. Marked 265 OZ SILVER/JOHN TAYLOR & Co to the side tops. 3 1/2" H x 11 1/2" W x 4 5/8" D. American, mid/late 19th century. Note: San Francisco : John Taylor & Company was an importer, dealer and manufacturer of Assayer Materials as well as mine and mill supplies based in San Francisco, California. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Scattered abrasions, largest 1/4", surface of mold.
