English George I triple cased verge fusee pocket watch, works by William Kipling (active 1705-1750, London). Outer case comprised of tortoiseshell, middle case comprised of gold wash silver metal, and inner case of silver metal. Watch is key wound with a porcelain face having black markers, painted floral decoration and marked “William Kipling London”. Verge fusee movement signed “Wm. Kipling London” and numbered 13775. Hallmarked on inner case. 1st half 18th century.
CONDITION: Watch runs when wound, retains a winding key. Overall good condition with signs of general use wear; minute hairline to porcelain face measuring approximately 1/2â³. Outer case with general expected use wear.
