Russian Lacquer Bowl depicting a scene from the Roman myth of Cupid and Psyche. Base of bowl is stamped with three gold Russian Imperial Coat of Arms surrounded by red Cyrillic writing that are possibly marks of the Lukutin Factory. Small A incised in the center of each coat of arms possibly signifies it was made during the reign of Alexander III of Russia, 1881-1894. Housed in a circular gilt wooden frame, base of bowl visible through round cut out on back. Sight – 9" dia. Framed – 13 1/2" dia. x 2" D. Condition: Lacquer crackling on surface of bowl, sections of frame broken. CONDITION: Lacquer crackling on surface of bowl, sections of frame broken.
