5 sterling silver and coin items, including Wood and Hughes presentation ewer. 1st item: Wood & Hughes coin silver presentation ewer, slender urn-shaped body with incurved neck and arched, outward-flared spout. Impressed scroll decoration at lip, body, pedestal and base and alternating pressed and smooth decoration to body. Engraving in cartouche dated August 26, 1865, presented for retirement, reading "Presented to John Tanner/as a Memento of Esteem/by the Proprietor and Employees of Wrightson & Co.'s Printing Office/Upon the occasion of his retiring from the position of Foreman". Elaborated C-scroll handle with foliate decoration. Tall pedestal base. Maker's marks on base. 12-1/2" H total, 20.215 oz troy. 2nd-3rd items: 2 Georgian sterling silver spoons, fiddle thread tipts, hand-engraved J, marks for London and retailer J.R. Compton, 6-3/16" L, 1.785 oz troy. 4th-5th items: Pair of sterling London, English salts, Neoclassical pierced oval bowls with claw and ball supports. Hallmarks for William Abdy II, one dated 1816, other 1819. 2" H x 3-1/8" W x 2-1/4" D. 2.70 oz troy (approx. without liner). Provenance: Private Knoxville, TN estate. CONDITION: 1st item: Thumb-print dent on one lower side. 2nd-3rd items: Very good condition. 4th-5th items: One with torn rim and missing blue glass liner. Other liner difficult to remove.
