East Tennessee, Blount County salt-glazed stoneware pottery lidded jar, petite form, having incised line decoration around the shoulder and upper body, applied handles, stamped with impressed “W. Grinstaff” for Grindstaff Pottery (1870 – 1890) between the incised line decoration and a lid with a round finial and incised line decoration. 6 in. H.
CONDITION:
One side with a crescent-shaped hairline emanating up to the upper shoulder and additionally emanating below one handle. The base with two chips, the largest measures 1 1/2 in. H x 3/4 in. W. Final of the lid with losses.
