Three (3) Asian Textiles. 1st item: Southeast Asian Thangka, depicting a warrior on horseback, with flames in the background, surrounded by deities. Image painted on silk with hand sewn silk border, embroidered paisley designs and batik binding. 27 3/4″ x 19 1/2″ image, 45 1/2″ x 29″ overall. Possibly Indian, 19th century. 2nd item: Southeast Asian Thangka depicting a diety with multiple arms and faces eminating from a fountain, surrounded by other deity figures, in a landscape setting. Image painted on silk and surrounded by an embroidered silk border with batik binding. 29″ x 21″ image, 48″ x 30″ overall. Possibly Indian, 19th century. 3rd item: Qing embroidered silk textile, possibly a table cover, quatrefoil form with central peony medallion surrounded by bats and other auspicious symbols on a green and blue fret background, rose colored brocade border and pink silk backing. 32 1/2″ square. Chinese, 19th century. Provenance: Private Nashville collection. CONDITION: 1st item: Fading throughout; several scattered spots of wear to image. 2nd item: fading throughout, several spots of scratching/wear to image, a couple of tiny holes to image; pulls, wear and small stains to border, couple of spots of later yellow/green paint to subject’s top left hand and upper center area, some tiny holes. 3rd item: Staining, visible 3″ area on front with larger stains visible on back, 3″ area possible repair near center medallion (see back), other scattered stitch repairs and reinforcements, light wear and fading throughout; small breaks to some metallic threads.
