Two (2) Chinese Famille Rose snuff bottles, including relief molded. 1st item: Yellow ground porcelain snuff bottle, oval form, with relief molded decoration including scholars engaging in various activities beneath trees in a landscape setting. Red character marks to the base and pink stopper. 3" H. 2nd item: White ground porcelain snuff bottle, possibly Republic, flattened vase form, depicting a cat in a landscape setting with pine tree, peering up at a flying dragon. Fitted with a purple stone stopper. 3 1/4" H. Both Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Franklin, TN collection, by descent from Norman and Martha Stein Dickson, who owned an antiques store at 732-736 Royal Street in New Orleans from the 1950s until their deaths in the 1970s.
CONDITION: Both bottles are in very good condition.
