Middle Tennessee, likely Putnam County, salt-glazed stoneware pottery jar stamped HB below the rim within a serrated surround for Hiram Brown (1790 – 1867). Tall ovoid form with four faint rings on the upper shoulder and an olive green transitioning to tan glaze. 17 in. H x approx. 11 in. W. Second half of the 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Marty and David Black, Rockford, TN.
CONDITION: Overall good condition, faint, tight hairline to the base.
