3 Miniature portraits including watercolor on ivory. 1st item: Portrait of a gentleman with dark hair, black coat with a ruffled white collar, gold painted cardboard mat and silver metal bezel, silk covered frame. 4" x 3-1/4" overall. Circa 1815. 2nd item: Portrait of a young woman with dark curly hair, white gown with long strand of pearls and a brooch, in brass oval frame. 2-1/2" x 2-1/8" overall. Late 19th century. 3rd item: Watercolor on ivory or paper portrait of a older gentleman, wearing a white wig and blue coat with gilt highlights, against a black background. Molded ebonized wood frame. 3-1/2" x 3" overall. Probably late 18th century. Provenance: a Middle Tennessee estate. Condition: 1st item: missing protective glass. 1/8" scratch across subject's left eye. 2nd item: light wear to frame. 3rd item: Small crack and 1/16" chip to rear lower edge of frame. Later backing.
