New England Queen Anne Walnut side chair, attributed to Rhode Island, consisting of a yoke-shaped crest rail with rounded ends, vasiform center splat, trapezoidal slip-in seat with later flame stitch upholstery, all above cabriole front legs ending in pad feet and curved rear legs, all joined by block and vase turned stretchers. Leigh Keno American Antiques label to back interior of seat rest. 41 1/2" H x 20" W (seat) x 16 1/2" D (seat). Circa 1750.
PROVENANCE: The Tina McWhorter Trust; from the collection of John and Tina McWhorter, Memphis, Tennessee. Purchased from Leigh Keno American Furniture, 1989. Copy of receipt available to the winning bidder.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with light expected use wear and minor scattered abrasions.
