Two miniature portraits of gentlemen. 1st item – watercolor on paper of a young man dressed in a blue coat, appears to be in a mid 19th century frame. Inscription on back, "Taken 16 Feb 1821 an excellent Likeness" and initials (?sp). Sight 3 3/8" x 2 3/4", 4 7/8" x 5 1/2". Circa 1821, English or American. 2nd item – Ink silhouette on paper of a young man. Sight 2 1/2" x 1 7/8", 3 1/2" x 4". Inscription on back includes the name Guy D. Alexander China R. N. (Royal Navy?). Early 19th century, English or American. Provenance: The estate of King E. and Julia R. Stockton, Tulsa, OK. Condition: 1sti item – toning to paper, couple of browning spots near base of portrait, corner of frame chipped. 2nd item – light wrinkles to paper, minor toning.
