European School, possibly Italian, oil on canvas depicting Madonna and Child. Mary wears a blue cowl and holds an upright Christ with a red flower in his hand, the pair is flanked by a male and female angel playing musical instruments against a gold background, floral border. Unfinished portrait of a man on back of canvas, housed in a wood frame incised with tear drop and crescent pattern. Sight – 17 3/8"H x 12 3/4"W. Framed – 24"H x 19 1/4"W. 19th Century. Provenance: Estate of Bill Zarnon, Gatlinburg, Tenn. Condition: Some minor exfoliation and minor inpainting to Madonna, on top of cowl, hands and bottom of robe near flower border.
