Rare North Carolina coin silver long handled pictureback teaspoon with raised eagle and banner decoration to back of bowl, the pointed handle marked I VOGLER in rectangle (John Vogler, 1783-1881, working Salem, NC). Script monogram AP to top of handle. 5 3/8"L, .27 oz troy. For an example of a similar spoon by Vogler, ref. Cutten and Peacock, "Silversmiths of North Carolina," p. 180. CONDITION: Wear to tip of bowl; several tiny dents to bowl. Wear to eagle design.
