42-piece English Ironstone dinner partial service in the Ashworth Imari style pattern by Francis Morley & Co., circa 1860, including twenty-two (22) dinner plates; fifteen (15) soup bowls; one (1) platter; one (1) covered tureen; one (1) footed tureen or compote without lid; one (1) small footed compote without lid, with one (1) accompanying underplate. All pieces stamped with "Real Iron Stone China" and crown to undersides. All ranging from 3 1/2" H x 7 1/2" W x 5" D to 21 1/4" H x 17 1/4" W. English, 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Light surface grime and crazing. Minor surface scratches and abrasions, some down to white ground. Some pieces exhibit more wear or discoloration/staining than others. Scattered chips to platter, largest 1" area to rim. Two hairline cracks to covered tureen and one to larger footed compote, largest 2" L. Minor scattered chips to small compote and underplate, largest 1/2" L. Plates: Four with chips, largest 1" dia. Two with hairlines, longest 1.5" L. Three with previous chip repairs with paint or glaze residue, largest 1 1/4" L. Bowls: One with chip, 3/4" dia. Two with hairlines, largest 6" L.
