1st item: Hardwood screen with two inset ivory panels, the top decorated with a scene of a bird on a branch, the lower one with character writing, likely a calligraphy poem. Screen slides into a carved and pierced hardwood base. 6"h (including stand). Repair to leg of stand, ivory in excellent condition. 2nd item: Large carved ivory ojime bead in the form of young beautiful woman's face on one side and an old ugly woman's face on the reverse. Signed underneath. 3/4"H diam. 3rd item: small round box with inked decoration of two monkeys. 1-2/3" diameter. Small natural hole in base. 4th item: carved vegetable ivory snuff bottle with landscape decoration and gilt metal neck. Ivory spoon. 2-3/4"H. Hole to base. 5th item: Ivory Netsuke of a man with hammer. Signed on base. 1-1/2". 6th item: Bone netsuke of a man carrying a sack on his back. 2-1/4"H. Appears to have been broken off of a larger object. 7th item: strand of ivory beads, 16"L. 8th item: Ivory miniature plate with hand painted design and calligraphy. 2-1/2" diameter. 9th item: Cylindrical Ivory case, decorated with gilt design on a purple ground, enclosing a small glass vial. 3-1/2"h. All Chinese or Japanese, late 19th to early 20th century.
