Two (2) Currier and Ives hand colored lithographs, titled “A Base Hit” and “A Foul Tip”, after paintings by Thomas Worth (New York, 1834-1917), circa 1882. Issued as part of the “Darktown Comics” series. Both signed “Thos. Worth” in the stone, one lower left, one lower right. Housed in contemporary black wooden frames. Sight – 10 5/8″ H x 14 1/8″ W. Framed – 17 1/4″ H x 20″ W. Both items late 19th century. CONDITION: Heavy foxing on both sheets. 1 1/8″ tear, lower left of Base Hit sheet. Not examined out of frame.
