Oil on board seascape with moonlight on water, signed lower left with a signature appearing to be Emil Carlsen (American, 1848-1932). Period giltwood frame. Painting in very good condition with minor craquelure. Frame in very goodcondition with 2 minor chips on corners. Sight – 9 3/4" W x 8" H. Framed – 15 3/4" W x 14" H. Biography (courtesy AskArt): Emil Carlsen is counted among the important early California painters of the late nineteenth and earlytwentieth centuries. He won medals at the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904 and the Panama Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco in 1915.
