1st item: US Civil War Model 1860 Staff and Field Officer’s sword, gilt brass hilt with an embossed eagle to one side of shell guard and flags, trophies and wreaths other side. Pommel decorated with a US eagle, the knucklebow with floral motifs, fishskin grip and etched blade. Blade measures 30″ L. 36″ total L. 2nd item: French bayonet with single edged blade, metal guard with ring, and brass hilt with ringed grip. Engraved with illegible maker’s mark on bottom of blade, “4392” and “IB” with crown maker’s mark, either side of guard. Blade measures 22 5/8″ L. 27 1/4″ total L. CONDITION: 1st item: Oxidation and pitting, losses to decoration to blade. Losses to fishskin grip. 2nd item: Wear and minor oxidation to blade and guard. Scabbard absent.
