Sterling Strauser (Pennsylvania, 1907-1995) oil on board still life painting depicting a bud vase with blue flowers against a tan background, rendered in a thick impasto technique. Signed and dated "Strauser 79" lower right. Includes two newspaper articles about Strauser affixed en verso. Housed in an off-white wooden frame with light blue trim, an off-white linen liner, and an off-white wooden fillet. Sight: 11 1/2" H x 3 3/4" W. Framed: 17 1/4" H x 9 1/4" W.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Fillet and liner with areas of staining, largest 1/2. Frame with areas of loss, largest 1", to off-white paint.
