Set of twelve English Chippendale-style mahogany dining chairs including two (2) armchairs and ten (10) side chairs. Each having molded, yoke-shaped top rails with carved foliate decoration and leaf carved ears; foliate carved and tapered stiles; splat in pierced pattern with fine leaf carvings; serpentine seats covered in peach moire upholstery and straight molded and carved legs with C-scroll carved returns. The armchairs have double curved foliate carved arms above curved and carved armrests. Side chairs measure: 38" H x 23" W x 20 1/2" D. Arm chairs measure: 39 1/4" H x 29" W x 21 1/2" D. Seat height for all chairs is 18 1/2". English, 3rd quarter of the 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Property from the Collection of Jo Ann Cline Yates, Lookout Mountain Tennessee, purchased Great Brompton House Antiques, Hereford, England, 1993. Copy of some original purchase information is available to the winning bidder.
CONDITION: All chairs in overall good condition with normal age related use wear. Seat of one side chair with staining.
