American 19th century oil on board in the manner of Conrad Chapman. Fall landscape depicting a tree lined lake foreground, cows in a pasture mid-ground and mountains in the background. Housed in a carved gilt and gesso frame with scrolling vine and acorn decoration. Unsigned. Sight – 15 3/4" H x 7 3/4" W. Framed – 22" H x 13 7/8" W. Provenance: Estate of Martha Lyman, Dayton, TN. CONDITION: Very light overall craquelure, overall light grime. Some losses to corners of frame.
